Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is all about getting back to living a normal life and living it as independently as possible. This can mean

learning new skills or relearning old skills in a different way. It may involve getting used to new limits and/or after-stroke Side-effects. Kids will often recover the ability to use their arms and legs also the ability to speak after having a stroke.

Some may need to learn how to bathe and dress using only one hand, or how to communicate when their ability to use language has been bothered. The most important element in any rehabilitation program is being focused, and practicing over and over again. Some use the same kind of practice used by all people when they learn a new skill, such as playing sports or learning to cook.
