My Story

was just a little girl 10 years old healthy as could be in 2010. One morning I had woke up to get ready for school, it was January 5th which was my first day back after Christmas break. As I was walking down the hallway passing my sisters room when I had fallen in the floor. "BAM" I hit the floor my sister woke up, she then saw me laying there seizing. When I didn't respond she ran and got my mom.

When I didn't respond to my mom either she called 911. I was unresponsive and had fallin to the floor she told them. The Ambulance arrived took me from my home on a backboard (we have a two story home). Once we were in the ambulance they didn't allow my mom in at first but she insisted that she ride with me. When I arrived to the hospital I was taken into emergency surgery my whole family came in from all over and friends too! Now during the surgery my doctor went to the waiting room; he told my family that there was little chance of me surviving and if I did I'd never walk again. This is just the start to my life long journey.

I have gone through way more in the past 6 years than any kid my age should go through in their life time. In a total I've had about 13 or 14 surgeries including brain surgeries. I have also had a good portion of my skull removed and replaced.

Was there a reason for this?

No there was no reason for me to have had that Stroke. I was perfectly healthy and such a happy little girl, which I still am now just a few things have changed in my life. When I had my stroke is Paralyzed the left side of my body which gave me a limp. Even though I have a limp I get around great, Life can still go on. Getting looks from everyone just makes you special and different, nobody can be you now only YOU can be YOU!

How I lived for a while

For a year of my life I lived with a good portion of my Skull taken out of my head. Why? I had to live without it because for the longest time period my brain kept swelling. (They stored it in a freezer) After that year without the piece of skull in we decided it was too dangerous for me to be wothout it. The doctors had then figured it would be ok to put the piece back in my head, until three months later when it started to disintegrate. They then had to take it back out; when they took it out they replaced it with titanium mesh.
